Shop ‘til you drop, but do it for a good cause. The 2nd Annual Beauty Binge 2011 hosted by Shop Addicts was every woman’s dream come true. The socially conscious fresh faced beautynistas came together on June 23rd for a night of shopping indulgences featuring beauty, hair and makeup trends, all for a good cause. It was damp night in New York City, but the excitement of supporting Gifted Hands brightened up the evening. Isolated among stylenistas including the likes of The Style Guru, The Salon Guy, Celebrity Hair Stylist George Purcell, On the Lookout NYC, Crystal Peel, and Celebrity Makeup Artist Linda Mason, this was your shopping do-it-all. The Beauty Binge hosted an array of glamor bars from hair treatments by Belegenza, medi-spa tips from Laser Cosmetica, pampering by Oasis Day Spa, and a bronze glow station by Roxanne Rizzo.
The moment the LC socialites arrived, we were warmly greeted by Serena Muniz with gracious hospitality who lead us straight to the action. As excitement filled our hearts, we knew we were in the place to be in all of New York City. Amidst the row of beauty products, we mingled to the energizing beats and sipped on charming cocktails sponsored by POURMoi Cognac from Vitamin C Cocktails. Fashion show Make-up artists such as Linda Mason were on hand showcasing the “Metamorphoses” line, as well as Celebrity hair stylist to the stars, George Purcell, and his team offered hair consultations from styled updos, to loose curls, to the romantic waves of the beach look.
The Founder of Shop Addicts, Dee Rivera, a most stylish host, engaged in vibrant conversation with her fresh-faced beautynistas. Shop Addicts is a Shopping Experience for every fashionista and beautynista bringing social awareness to causes such as sex child trafficking, homelessness, child illnesses and others. Dee Rivera is a change maker in this fast paced city, and doing so through something she loves, shopping!
While we indulged in the shopping experience, our hearts stood still when meeting Dustee Hullinger, Founder of the celebrated charity, Gifted Hands. With a formal education and a long list of achievements, Dustee gave it all up to dedicate her life to serving women from grievous backgrounds. Her work is not just a band aid or a mere distraction, it is an investment that is changing lives. Dustee is the epitome of what Lifestyle + Charity aspires to be. Gifted Hands is a nonprofit organization that provides outreach to New York City’s undeserved communities through art programs. These programs give participants the opportunity to create something beautiful with their own “gifted hands” through a variety of mediums including stained glass, woodworking, jewelry design, scrapbooking and more.
The message of Beauty Binge was to shop ‘til you drop.
